The IRTBA believes that transportation infrastructure is vital to improving life in Illinois and across the nation. However, transportation infrastructure investment is not meeting the current needs for economic development, congestion relief, safety, preservation, or quality of life. Consequently, the IRTBA:
- Supports efforts to enhance the efficiency and improve the transportation infrastructure of the United States and Illinois transportation systems.
- Supports efforts to identify freight and passenger transportation corridors by mode and prioritize public investment to facilitate the seamless, safe, efficient movement of people and goods while not sacrificing the needs of any other transportation modes.
- Supports actively pursuing future projects.
- Supports meaningful utility reform.
- Promotes Increasing Driver Safety by Improving Road Conditions
